The Julia Renz Story

Julia Renz, 3-1/2, has a rare heart condition called cardiomyopathy which simply means, her heart muscle is abnormally enlarged, making it difficult for her heart to effectively pump blood. This condition often leads to heart failure or irregular heartbeats and is among the biggest causes of sudden death among children.  Julia was diagnosed when she was 4 months old.

Earlier this year, Julia's parents, Rebecca and Jeff, were told their daughter was going to be listed for a heart transplant as soon as possible.  She is now on the top priority list for donors.  Julia and her family were forced to move to Lakewood to a home they’ve renovated so they can be closer to the hospital.  They were told that Julia now needs and will always need an easy clean environment to protect her.  Now they wait for their pager to go off, notifying them of a possible donor heart.
